Project instructions:

Locate a sport horse sale ad for assessment purposes.  The ad must be in one of the following disciplines: Hunters, Equitation, or Dressage.

The sale ad MUST contain at least one conformation photograph suitable for doing a detailed conformation analysis based on the criteria given in class, at least one video showing movement at all gaits in both directions, and at least one competition video suitable for judging based on criteria learned in the course. 

For the final presentation, each student had to provide an in-depth, detailed analysis of the conformation of their chosen sale horse, and how it compares to the “ideal” characteristics of the discipline the horse belongs to. Students then have to provide an assessment of the movement of the horse in the ad.  Describe both the type and quality of movement, as well as the irregularities seen, if any. Provide your assessment of the movement in relation to the ideal for the discipline. Lastly, provide a judged round (either jumping or dressage) Using the scorecard provided, score the round shown in the sale ad.
